Temperature

The product may crack because it is too close to the freezing point.

Concrete

Between 2.5 mm and 10 mm.

It is strongly recommended that you wait for the full 28-day curing period. Even if the product appears hard after 1 to 7 days, water continues to evaporate. For best results, wait until it has fully cured before applying the epoxy.

Yes, but only after completing the full 28-day treatment.

  • The water evaporated too quickly.
  • The concrete was overmixed.
  • Excess water.

Yes, it is possible to clean these mineral salt deposits that appear on brick, concrete, or pavers, but cleaning does not address the root cause of the problem, which is moisture. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the waiting time.

Here are a few methods:

  • Dry brushing.
  • Specialty cleaners.

Use:

  • Concrete mix
  • HR-8000 (8,000 psi)

Bomix offers several products designed for concrete slabs:

  • Concrete mix: standard product reaching approximately 4,000 psi after 28 days
  • HR-8000: for a compressive strength of 8,000 psi after 28 days
  • Fast-setting products, such as fast-setting HPC concrete

All of these products are generally applied to a minimum thickness of 2 inches.

The recommended thickness is generally that of a 2 x 4-inch board, or about 3 1/2 inches.

A thinner slab is more likely to crack.

Concrete Curing and Bonding

Water must be prevented from evaporating to ensure that the cement is fully hydrated. Curing must begin as soon as the finishing work is complete and continue for 3 to 7 days.

Always refer to the product instructions for specific recommendations.

  • Clean the surface.
  • Don't leave the surface smooth; scarify it mechanically.
  • Create a chemical bond. Brush NIVABOND bonding adhesive onto the existing concrete and let it dry before applying the new concrete.
  • Pour the new concrete immediately after applying the chemical bonding agent, while it is still fresh, following the manufacturer's recommendations.

Stone and pyrite

All of our stones are BD-certified (pyrite-free).

Cement-sand

Cement-sand mix is ideal for resurfacing existing concrete and for covering damaged horizontal concrete surfaces less than 51 mm (2 in.) thick.

  • Remove dirt, oil, algae, and fragile parts.
  • Use a pressure washer as needed.
  • Repair any damaged areas as needed.
  • Follow a moisturizing regimen for 3 to 5 days.

The product can be applied with a trowel just like standard concrete.

Yes, it is possible to install ceramic tiles on a cement-sand surface, but it depends on the condition of the substrate: strength, levelness, cracks, and thickness.

Important – Cement-sand mix is too sandy

Cement-sand becomes sandy as the cement breaks down, exposing the sand grains.

Possible causes:

  • Too much water in the mixture (leaching).
  • The water evaporated too quickly.
  • The cement was mixed too much.

  • Scrape the surface to remove any excess material. Scrub the area vigorously with a wire brush, chisel, or pointed chisel to remove all loose sand and cement. Stop only when a solid, firm layer is reached.
  • Prepare a new mixture: 50% water, 50% All-Crete (adhesive), then add cement-sand.

Bomix Asphalt

No. Because of the heat, it might crumble.

No.

It is primarily designed for:

  • Potholes
  • Cracks wider than 2.5 cm

  • Apply the asphalt in a confined space and compact it.

Installing Posts

See the product data sheet.

See the product data sheet.

Allow it to cure for at least 24 hours before placing heavy loads on it or subjecting it to stress.

Vertical Repairs

  • FastSet™ HPC Repair Mortar: Maximum thickness of 1 1/2 inches in a single layer.
  • VERSAFIX: maximum thickness of 3 in.

These products are designed to:

  • Vertical Repairs
  • Step corners
  • Heavily Cracked Concrete
  • Repairs That Require Prompt Attention

FastSet™ HPC Repair Mortar offers:

  • High initial resistance.
  • Excellent adhesion without a binder.
  • Overhanging installation (ceiling).

Cracks and Water Seepage

Use the POLY-PLUG for cracks wider than 1/4 in. Method: See the technical data sheet.

For fine cracks (1/4 in.):

  • Using Fortafix
  • Or Injectec-R

Fortafix and Injectec-R are suitable for fine cracks. Follow the instructions in the product data sheet.

Poly-Plug and All-Crete

No.

Repairing Mortar Joints

  • PERMAFIX (mortar)
  • Mortar Joint Sealant in a Tube

Anchoring

Use Fastset Epoxy Anchor.

Follow the instructions on the product data sheet.

Easy Match can be used with any cement-based product.

Pargemix or Bomix Stuc (gray).

  • The maximum thickness of a layer is 13 mm (1/2 in.).
  • Smooth out the mortar to create an even surface without any holes.
  • For applications thicker than 13 mm (1/2 in.), apply in successive coats, allowing 24 hours to dry between coats.

Yes, but the adhesive shouldn't be completely dry. Wait until it becomes tacky before applying the Pargemix.

The foundation must not be covered with any coating and must be sufficiently porous to allow the adhesive to bond.

Floor Leveling

Use the BOMIX NIVAFLOW self-leveling product.

  • Allow 24 to 48 hours before allowing traffic or installing. See the technical data sheet.
  • Can be applied in very thin layers up to 38.1 mm (1 1/2 in.) thick.

Heated Floor

  • NIVAFLOW
  • Follow the instructions on the product data sheet.

Spread’n Bond and Unicrete

Possible causes:

  • Unstable, cracked, or poorly cleaned surface
  • Sponge or trowel is too wet
  • Very high ambient temperature

Between 25 and 45 minutes, depending on the temperature.

  • Spread’n Bond: Designed for resurfacing. Maximum thickness: 1 in.
  • Unicrete: Designed to repair holes and cracks. Maximum thickness of 3 inches.

No.

Stucco

No, because the product has not been tested for this application.

  • Yes, no problem, after it has had time to mature.
  • You can also tint the stucco with Easy-Match.
